Here is a small bunch of paulownia handplanes, two of which have GoPro mounts. The three handplanes pictured by themselves will be in the online store by the end of today and the fourth (the double walnut stringer, swallow tail, V8) is for me. I am heading out to college next week so today will be the last day I take custom orders... after that until next summer, it will be whatever boards I have in the store. This is Jon and Matt, and their first self-shaped handplanes. They shaped them up at my house today under some experienced supervision. They turned out great and they are using them at the Wedge as I write this.

Back in Business

Although it may seem to you that I have been ignoring Lincoln Surf, (because I have not been posting or updating anything) but I have actually been hard at work. There will be some changes to the way my company works because of some changes in my life... most of which are good. Also, stay tuned for some really sweet boards in the shop!

Luke's Home-shaped Handplane

A little while back Luke from the UK emailed me asking about getting a handplane. In the middle of that he made the awesome decision that he would try to make his own at his Granddad's workshop. It looks like it turned out really cool and it looks like he is having fun... which is the whole point! Nice job, Luke.

Simply Awesome

This craftsmanship is so awe-inspiring. It takes extreme amounts of time and expertise and diligence and patience to make this kind of board. This is very inspiring for me and my wood-work.

Handplane Strap Upgrade!

Finally, a strap upgrade. I have been dreaming up and designing a new strap style for a long time. Finally, I have all of the pieces together for a good price. So far, it seems pretty indestructible. I will let you all know when they are ready to be implemented into custom handplane orders and the boards in the shop.

Happy Father's Day, Dad

Yes, I know I'm a day late... our internet was down. Anyway, this is my Dad. I affectionately call him Chub-Chub. Sure, he is a little strange, but I wouldn't want him any other way. I have been around the world with him, surfing, surviving, and cracking jokes the whole time. He can be dressed-to-the-nines and act like a 5 year old (in a good way), he can be in seemingly life-threatening situations and be completely calm, or he can be in a serious situation and make everyone laugh. Thanks for everything Dad.
